OTCWF members regularly volunteer to go to area schools to teach children safety around all dogs whether they are confronted with strange dogs or playing with their own family dogs.  Our members also explain and demonstrate the importance of basic training and the proper care of all dogs. Below are some pictures of members taken at West Foundation Elementary School in Wichita Falls, TX.

Margaret demonstrates the correct ways and places to touch and pet a dog.

Maggie demonstrates the basic training commands: sit, down, heel, come, & stay.

Picard demonstrates some fun tricks that dogs can do.

While the children are watching the dog safety video.  Martha and Libby wait patiently and show that with the proper training and care dogs can learn to stay calm in unfamiliar places.

The children practice the safe way to approach a dog with Maggie & Debby.

Everyone enjoys petting practice!
